MIKE COWLEY
I have always enjoyed optimizing processes to make things work better, so supply chain is a logical occupation for me. I drove a truck and worked in a freezer to put myself through a Management Economics Degree at the University of Guelph. After graduating I became a bike courier in Toronto, an obvious career path, well maybe not, but fun for a while. I spent 11 years at Canadian Tire in various supply chain roles within distribution, forecasting and replenishment, transportation and project management. After Canadian Tire I spent 4 years at Source Medical (now known as Cardinal Health) split between Director of Transportation and Customs, and Director of Distribution Operations. I started at Wakefield in May of 2006 and am thrilled that I made the move! My wife Lorraine and I live in Toronto with our two daughters Anne and Claire. The Supply Chain team is spread across the country, yet we are always in constant communication, which helps us work together to get the right product in the right place at the right time. We have made a lot of progress in the last few years. The team and I have a lot more plans for improvements, which will be brought to the Wakefield Canada supply chain in the near future.
